古い日本手話に関する映像資料 Video materials on old Japanese Sign Languages
国立民族学博物館（みんぱく）では古い日本手話に関する映像資料を収集するプロジェクトを進めており、日本手話に関する歴史的な映像資料を収集し、デジタル化・保存・公開することを目的として本ページを運営しています。日本手話は、日本のろうコミュニティで使用される視覚言語であり、独自の文法体系や表現方法を持っています。けれども、現在入手可能な映像による記録は限られており、これまでの日本手話の歴史や変化を理解するための手がかりとなる貴重な資料が散逸しつつあるのが現状です。本プロジェクトでは、日本手話の映像をアーカイブ化すること、また、ソースコミュニティ（手話話者）・研究者・一般の方々にとって、必要なデータにアクセスし利用していただくためのサイトの構築を目指しています。
収集の対象としている映像には、過去の日本手話による会話や講演の映像、特に高齢話者から新規収録した語りや会話などが含まれます。これらの資料を今後、適切に整理・保存し、アクセスしやすい形で提供することで、手話文化の継承と研究の発展に貢献していきます。
This project aims to collect, digitize, preserve, and make publicly available historical video materials related to Japanese Sign Language (JSL). JSL is a visual language used within the Deaf community in Japan, characterized by its unique grammatical structure and expressive methods. However, existing records are limited, and valuable video materials are at risk of being lost. By archiving these precious videos, we seek to establish an accessible data platform for the source community (sign language users), researchers, and the general public. The collected videos will include donated historical footage, newly recorded narratives by signers, and sociolinguistic survey data. Through systematic management of these materials, we aim to contribute to the preservation of sign language culture and the advancement of research.
