あなたの思い出の手話映像を博物館に残しませんか？
文字のない言語である手話は、日本語や英語のように「書き残す」ということができません。昔の方々が使用していた大切なことばを保存し、また現在の手話を後世に伝えていくために、国立民族学博物館では、日本の手話を保存していく取り組みを始めました。
みなさんのお手元にあるホームビデオや講演会などの手話言語の記録を博物館に残し、広く利用できるように、ご協力をお願いします。（映像の内容や寄贈者の意向により、ソースコミュニティや研究目的など、利用対象を限定することも可能です。）

How about preserving your memories of sign language videos at the museum?

Sign language, being a language without written characters, cannot be “written down” like Japanese or English. In order to preserve the valuable words used by past generations and transmit current sign language to future generations, the National Museum of Ethnology has started an initiative to preserve Japanese sign language.

We kindly ask for your cooperation in donating your home videos, recordings of lectures, or other sign language materials to the museum. These will be preserved and made available for broader use. (Depending on the content of the video and the donor’s preferences, the use of the materials may be restricted, such as for specific communities or research purposes.)
